Projects with 2crafty + a video!

It is lots of frost outside my window and here I am with a summer layout :)

This is a layout I created as a dt project for 2crafty. The puzzle pieces, the title, the rings and heart and 2016 are all chipboard from 2crafty. For this layout I used acrylic paint to color them. They take color incredible well, no gessoing first needed.
This is such a playful photo so I wanted to match that in the layout and try to use the same colors as the photo,
White splashes, gesso and string for the background and lots of color for the forground :)

Next for my dt post I made these mixed media tags. I used finnabairs metallic paint on these and the result was amazing! I really LOVE the metallic shine on the them. I choose to paint all the chipboards white to create a beautiful contrast and really make the chippies pop.
For these tags I also made a video with you can find at the end of this post.

I think I will let the detail pic speak for them self. The shine and structure are divine :)

I dream of flying!

My dream.

I dream of flying. Both in real life and when I am sleeping.  I have been bungy jumping, skydiving, been on a helicopter and love hiking in the mountings. I simply love high heights and one of my next goals is hang gliding :)

At night when you're sleeping, you can actually fly for real and those dreams are the coolest! The feeling is just amazing!

For this project I was inspired by MixedMediaPlace's creative gym challenge "Dreams":

At first I was going to do an art journal spread but when I sat down at my desk I saw this wooden doll on the shelf and thought "That one would be cool to alter!"
I had these chipboard wings from 2Crafty that just worked perfectly for this project. With a little gears and harlequin chipboards, gold color bloom and rust paste I had my dream project :)

I wanted to give the doll a reaching/flying pose.

 I have also used some beads in different sizes to get some extra structure.

I used the chipboard word "experience" at the bottom (also from 2crafty)

It hasn't been happening that much in my blog the last couple of weeks :) That's because all four of us in the family recently got back to work and school after a pretty long summer vacation :)

I have been scrapping and crafting at times but I haven't spent that much time in front of the computer other than for work.

But, here I am again with a lot of finished pieces!

This first one I made for 2Crafty chipboards and also with inspiration from ScrapAfricas August mood board.

It is a photo from a consert and I wanted to capture the glam and glamour of the pic. Lots of purple, glitter and silver metallic. :)

Yesterday was my first day over at 2CraftChipboards! :D I can't tell you how excited I am! Hop on over there to see my first blogpost.

This was the first project I did and it also has got a process video. I made it inspired by Mixed Media Place mood board.

I was inspired by the colors as well as the quote. I wanted to make something about me, something I always wanted to do and have in my life. So this palette represents both mixed media scrapbooking as well as my color and paint hobby.

I loved the colors! From the very pale beige to the very dark pink and then white lettering on top of that.

Life is wonderful!

Life IS wonderful! Me and my two sons went on our summer brake yesterday :D Two whole month of lazy days! Hubby has a couple of weeks left, mohahaha... :P

This month at Words&Paintery we have some typical Swedish colors for you to be inspired by. They are also very typical for summer. Blue as the sky and the ocean and yellow as the wonderful summer sun.

I made a mixed media layout with a pic of my oldest son in the playground. I wanted the layout to be both fun and summery and it turned out better than I hoped! 

Below I even made a short picture tutorial of how the layout is made. (my video webcam seams to be on summer brake as well...stupid camera..)

I was inspired by Prima's BAP for this layout.

I started out with Heavy gesso through a stencil and let it dry.

The white heavy gesso worked as a resist when I applied my blue and gold colorbloom on the layout. Instead of sprying  I used a brush to spread and splash out the colors.

Some splashes of ink and a stamp with houndstooth pattern in black to create even more contrast.

I cut strips of paper from different Prima paper pads and added tape (not sure what it's called in English?) for structure.

And finally some embellishments. These are only the big ones. The blue flowers are colored with the same blue color bloom as the background and then some white gesso.

The title is a chipboard piece from 2Crafty. It is first painted whit white gesso and then I stamped on it directly with my stamp pad

Some glass glitter, a little bling and a few stickers and I am done :)
