You are amazing my son

I have been playing with my water color pencils from Prima again :)
Prima have this beautiful mood board this month and it really inspired me to draw and color on my background.

2016 June PPP

I drew my favorite flower, dahlia. Since I wanted the flower and watercolor splashes to really stand out on the layout I went with a clean and simple style.

I didn't have anything brass colored so I used my copper and gold colors on the mesh tape and the stars.

The blue flower was originally white but I colored it with acrylic paint and the beautiful chipboard title from 2Crafty I let stay natural since I loved the contrast between the wood, the metal and the watercolor.

Here you can see just the flower. I sketched it first and the used a waterproof black pen from Faber Castell. The water splashes are also made with watercolor pencils. I simply shaved of some color and mixed it with water and the used a brush to splash.¨

Do you see the little blue flag behind the word "smile"? It is cut out of a piece of scrap paper that came from this paper pad:

Art journaling

This past week I have been taking my pocket art journal with me where ever I have gone. It is so nice to be able to sit down and create something. Even if it is only ten minutes during a coffee break :)

As I have sad before I usually create in the journal based on a word and from now on I think I will incorporate the word in the page as seen in these three. I almost only use aquarell pencils and black and white pens but try to ad a little mixed media as well. The top one has blue glimmer mist for background, the "lonely" one has a lot of color bloom both for the space and the hair and the bottom one actually has chipboard that I "peeled" to make them thinner (the stars).

Prima galore!

'It is that time of the year!
Call header

Last year I applied to their team as well and was so incredible happy and thrilled to find myself being chosen for their Guest Design Team :D
That really gave me a confident boost, it made me feel like I have really found myself in my craft.
I always describe my style as a combination of mixed media and CleanAndSimple :) I love to get messy but also to use the black space of a white cardstock. Something you can almost always find on my layouts is something dripping or hanging and something stenciled.

Below there I have gathered those of my projects that have the most Prima products on them. Most of my layouts have at least one Prima accent on them but these ones are almost only prima. First there are two new layouts I made especially for this call and then there are some older ones. Lastly I wanted to show my water color art journal.

Here is one where I have played with my metallic colors (Finnabair Art Alchemy Acrylic Paint - Metallique) I only have silver and copper so far but I have realized I really need more colors :)
I have also used Color Bloom Gold, Precious stone, Blue and some black heavy gesso.
The metallic paint is applied on the title, one of the roses, the pin, a metal flower, the background, the chain and on the chipboard.

I used both pain and color bloom on the golden rose. It was sort of an experiment to see how it would turn out :)

I LOVE the mechanical stars from Prima Finnabair. I think they would look so good in some metallic paint coat as well. Blue metallic stars would be awesome.

This next layout is made inspired by Primas may Product Pics. It is a really summery mood board. This gave me an opportunity to play with my Prima water color pencils. I firstly made a background with a stencil and clear gesso and then applied the pencils. (you can read more about this layout in the previous post)

Here are some oldies :) Mostly Prima based layouts. This first one "beauty" is one of my all-time favorite layouts. I love the effect the white blank space makes combined with the dark red, black and gold.

About a month ago we went to Paris :D

To that trip I bought this little pocket moleskine. It is watercolor papers inside it. It made it easy to be able to create even though I was on a plane or walking through and taking a break in a park somewhere :)

Here is four of my favorit pages in the journal. As you can see my theme is female figurines and lots of hair :) I usually think of a word first and then see if I can make a journal page out of it. These four are inspired by these words, in order:

Goldie locks
Serenity
Free
Powerfull

The background on this first one is made with blue and gold color bloom.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by and take a look at my projects :)
Hope to see you soon!

Monochromatic joy

I really felt like doing a monochromatic layout today :) So I did!
I used a lot of wite and black acrylic paint and ink pads on this one. The flower wine for example was green and pink before it got a couple of black coats.

I made the layout based on Scraphusets sketch this month.

Kraft + Travel + Maps

I wanted to try and make a layout on kraft background. I think especially white splatter looks so good on kraft :)
This is a layout about our trip to Crete in Greece. Me and my oldest son had sort of a photo session on the beach together. The photo on this layout is one I took on his feet and hands that are forming a heart :)

I made this out of the criteria over at KraftPlusChallenge

The map on my background is hand drawn while I was looking at a Europe map. Then I made little X on our home town and on the island Crete and a stitched pattern between them.
Al the chippies are from Scrappiniec :) and the flowers from prima. Both the chippies and the flowers where also coated with a layer of tattered angels glimmer glaze.

Scrap and Pearl event

So this past weekend I was at our capital city Stockholm and attended a massive scrap event! I loved every minute of it. It was a three day gathering and during the Saturday we where about a thousand people scrapping together! There was also about fifteen scrap and pearl stores attending.

I got three project done during the event and did a LOT of shopping :D

Here are two layouts and one big canvas.

The words on the canvas are Latin and says "potentia vobiscum"
witch translate to "may the force be with you" :)
an fitting quote in our family (we all love star wars)
